fake

These are the fake scars that we created with red food dye, corn starch, a teabag, staples, water, flour and a black eye liner. We experimented with the different materials to see which combinations worked best. The top photo was our first attempt, we tried to make it look like a deep cut in the middle of her hand. For the blood we used cornstarch, flour and red food colouring but we found that it was to light and orange so it looked unrealistic. On our second attempt we chose to use only food colouring for the blood, and for the darker inside part of the cut, we cut a tea bag open and mixed it with the red food dye. This made the cut look much more realistic and gory which was our aim. After, we put staples into the wax so that it looked like they were hanging out, this made it look more effective and painful as well as realistic, our third and fourth attempts were the best because we understood how apply the wax and blood so that it looked realistic, and I think we achieved the look we were aiming for.
